The President’s Letter

Congratulations and welcome! You have been asked to join our staff of compassionate Clinicians because of your abilities, experience and the quality of your past performance. We hope that your clinical skills and personality will contribute to our mission of providing leading-edge home health care to our patients and the highest standard skills training to our service providers. As a home health care provider, our aim is to prevent our patients from exacerbating their illness and going back to the hospital, where it is going to cost the healthcare system a lot of dollars.

GENESIS HOME HEALTH AND HOSPICE is uniquely positioned to become the premier provider of home health care and hospice in Nevada. We plan to provide a full range of nursing and rehabilitative services to the greater Elko, Eureka, Lander, Humboldt, Pershing, Churchill and White Pine counties, and to the towns of Alamo, Ash Springs, Caliente, Hiko, Panaca, Pioche, Mesquite, Pahrump and Henderson Nevada. Our Clinicians will provide skilled care in our patient’s home where they can best meet the needs and goals of each patient, lower the risk of hospital-acquired infections, improve patient’s quality of life and save healthcare dollars.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau and MedPAC in 2010, the hospital cost of patient care is $2,853 per day, $800 per day in a nursing home and only $112 per day for home health. Providing healthcare at home can shorten hospital stay, prevent re-hospitalization and improve patient outcomes.

At any given time, about 1 in every 25 Americans – an estimated 12 million in all – currently receive health care at home. Americans are living longer, and a higher percentage of our population is over age 65, with both trends destined to accelerate drastically in the decades ahead. Baby boomers now turn age 65 at the rate of roughly 10,000 per day.

In 2004, the founders of GENESIS HOME HEALTH SERVICES, INC. recognized that there is an urgent need for home health in Northeastern Nevada. And 14 years later, our Company is positioned to serve patients in about half of the State’s geographic area. Nevada has the fastest growing elderly population in the whole country with an annual growth rate of 72% of the 65+ and 128% for the 85+ populations according to the 2005 study by the Rensselaerville Institute. Currently, there are hundreds of Medicare beneficiaries that do not have access to home health services in our coverage area. We believe that health care is a right for all Americans – not just a privilege and that as a healthcare provider, our duty is to provide timely and cost-efficient healthcare for all. The key to our success is YOU – our well-trained and motivated workforce and the superior service that you provide our patients and their families. It takes a successful organization to offer competitive salaries and benefits. Developing a team that works well together takes time. It is for these reasons that we screen our employees carefully; train them well and compensate them in a manner we believe is fair.

Sincerely,

“To the Amazing Staff at Genesis,
Thank you all so much for the help you gave us with my Grandpa. We appreciate the great care and attentive help. We know we were only with you for a short while, but we wish it would have been the whole duration of his needing hospice. Thank you all so very, very much!
Again, Lots of love.”

S, A, O, & L, Family of Genesis HH Patient

“Just wanted to send a token of our appreciation for your help and generosity. You came to our rescue last April by giving us catheter supplies when my husband was experiencing urinary retention after a total knee replacement. We were in a crisis and your nurses were so helpful and sympathetic! Even though we weren’t even patients.  Thank you all so much!  We are incredibly grateful.”

B & L W, Genesis HH Friends

“Hi! I’d like to let you guys know how much you are appreciated. You have all been extremely helpful.  With the combination of K’s diabetes and his memory loss, he can really be a perfect troll under the bridge. When he gets out of sorts, please don’t take it personally. Your patience and kindness have kept me from applying for a rubber room — for me!
Best wishes.”
